Can a restaurant or liquor store be held responsible if a drunk driver injures or kills someone?

Restaurant or liquor stores can be held responsible if they sell alcohol to somebody who hurts or injures somebody, really, two ways. Number one, they sell alcohol to a minor, so anybody who sells alcohol to somebody they know is a minor, or anybody who gives alcohol to somebody they know is a minor, you’re not allowed to do that. You’re in trouble. Twenty-one is the age. Simple as that. Everybody knows it. Second way they can be held responsible is, they sell to somebody that they know is an alcoholic, and they oversell to that person. Why? Because alcoholics drink how? Alcoholically, which means they get drunk. That’s what makes it a disease. You sell to somebody in that kind of situation, you’re putting the entire public at risk. That’s a big problem, and yes, you’re going to be held accountable for that.
