Do all property owners have a duty to provide exterior lighting in the common areas of the property?

All property owners have an obligation to do what’s reasonable under the circumstances to keep visitors safe, so lighting in common areas, that’s going to be a good minimum standard, because humans don’t see in the dark. Property owners, they need to have outdoor lighting and it needs to be lighting that’s bright enough so that people can see where they’re going. Every county has standards for what are called lumens, how bright the lights have to be. You’d have to check that county by county.
