Does a property owner have a duty to provide security guards?

Property owners might have a duty to provide security guards. It depends on the circumstances. Here’s what I can tell you. Property owners have a duty to provide whatever level of security is reasonable under those circumstances. What’s reasonable under the circumstances is going to vary. If we’re talking about a bar that’s in a bad area of town, and there’s two fights a night at the bar, and somebody gets stabbed in the place every other week, yeah, that bar is going to need to have security guards who are there. On the other hand, if it’s a church that’s, they don’t really have knife fights in the church, they probably don’t need to have security guards there. It really depends on the kind of place that it is and it depends on where it is.
